Terms & Conditions
1. Drivers
- Vehicles may only be driven by authorized drivers aged 25+.
- Authorized drivers include the renter and any additional drivers approved by L&P Camper Van Ltd.
- All drivers must provide a valid driver’s licence before the rental begins.
2. Unauthorized & Prohibited Travel Areas
- All vehicles are ON‑ROAD ONLY and must be driven exclusively on paved public roads.
- Driving on unpaved roads, Forest Service Roads (FSRs), or non‑public roads is strictly prohibited.
- Insurance does not apply on non‑public roads.
- If excessive dirt is found in the brakes or chassis, a $150 cleaning fee will apply, plus repair costs for any damage.
- The renter is fully responsible for all damages, towing fees, and expenses resulting from prohibited road use.
3. Mechanical Issues
- If any mechanical issue occurs, contact L&P Camper Van Ltd. immediately.
- We will assist you and help get you safely back on the road.
4. Interior Damage
- The renter is responsible for all interior damage, including appliances, cabinets, and flooring.
- Repair costs will be deducted from the security deposit.
5. Safety
- Each van undergoes a full mechanical and safety inspection before and after every rental.
- Vans include a fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector.
- If an alarm sounds, evacuate immediately, leave the door open, and contact L&P Camper Van Ltd.
- Maximum speed is 110 km/h. Excessive speeding results in a $500 fee.
- All L&P Camper Van vehicles are equipped with a GPS safety device. This helps us ensure the well‑being of our renters, especially when travelling in remote areas with limited cell service. We use this information only to confirm your location if we are unable to reach you or if we have reason to believe you may need assistance. By completing a booking, you agree to the use of GPS tracking for safety and operational purposes.
6. Condition of Rental & Responsibility for Repair
- The renter is responsible for any loss or damage to the vehicle or personal property during the rental, regardless of cause (collision, theft, vandalism, weather, etc.).
- The renter must pay up to the deductible listed in the insurance policy.
- All incidents must be reported to L&P Camper Van Ltd. and the police immediately.
- Failure to report within 24 hours may void insurance coverage.
7. Security Deposit
- A refundable $2,000 security deposit is due with the second payment, no later than 14 days before the rental.
- The deposit (or remaining balance) will be refunded within 3 days after drop‑off via the original payment method.
8. Cancellation Policy
- More than 30 days before rental: Full refund of deposit (50% of total rental price) minus 5% bank fee.
- 30–14 days before rental: 50% of rental amount is charged.
- 14 days or less: Full rental amount is charged.
- L&P Camper Van Ltd. may cancel a reservation at any time before the rental begins, including during orientation or test drive. A full refund will be issued.
9. Taxes & Fees
- Rates are in Canadian dollars.
- Applicable taxes and fees:
- PST: 7%
- GST: 5%
- BC Rental Vehicle Tax: $1.50/day
- Additional charges (e.g., mileage overages) also apply.
10. Smoking
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the van.
- Smoke odours will result in a $500 cleaning fee.
11. Pets
- Pets are allowed only with prior approval.
- Pets are not permitted on seats or beds.
- Excessive pet hair results in a $150 cleaning fee.
12. Late Pick‑Up & Return
- Pick‑up and return times must be followed as agreed.
- Late pick‑up or return will result in a $200 fee.
13. Mileage Allowance
- Rental includes 200 km/day.
- Additional mileage is charged at $0.50/km + taxes.
14. Insurance
L&P Camper Van Ltd. provides mandatory commercial insurance:
- Third‑Party Liability: up to $5,000,000
- Comprehensive & Collision Coverage
- Deductibles:
- Basic: $2,000
- Premium: $1,000
- Premium + windshield protection: $500
15. Fuel Policy
- Use the correct fuel type:
- Sprinter vans: DIESEL
- Honda Pilot: REGULAR gasoline
- The renter is fully responsible for damages caused by using the wrong fuel.
- The tank must be topped up before return. If not, L&P Camper Van Ltd. will refuel and charge the renter based on the fuel receipt.
16. Tolls, Fines & Administrative Fees
- The renter is responsible for all tolls, tickets, fines, penalties, and related administrative fees incurred during the rental.
- This includes parking violations, traffic violations, toll charges, and associated costs.
17. Liability Waiver
Personal Belongings
Renters are responsible for all personal items brought into or stored in the van. L&P Camper Van Ltd. is not liable for theft, loss, or damage.
Use of Equipment
Any equipment provided—such as paddleboards, kayaks, portable BBQs, bear spray, outdoor gear, or accessories—is used entirely at the renter’s own risk. L&P Camper Van Ltd. is not responsible for injuries or accidents involving the renter or any third party.
Bear Spray
Bear spray is provided as a wildlife‑deterrent safety tool only. Renters must use it responsibly and in accordance with local laws and manufacturer instructions. L&P Camper Van Ltd. is not liable for misuse, accidental discharge, or any resulting injury or damage.
Medical Expenses
Renters are responsible for obtaining their own travel and medical insurance. L&P Camper Van Ltd. is not responsible for any medical expenses incurred by the renter or by third parties in the event of an accident caused by the renter.
